SHBC 2017 Charity event - Yorkshire 3 Peaks walk
On Sunday 27th August 2017 we will be walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks again (24 miles hopefully in under 12 hours), but in the opposite direction to last time Ingleborough (723m), Whernside (736m) and Pen-y-Ghent (694m). This will be to raise money for our badminton club and Macmillan Cancer Support. Primarily this is so we can keep the club going and not have to raise fees. If you'd like to take part or donate please get in touch with a member of the committee.
Another successful quiz night was held at Blackburn Leisure, Prescott Avenue, Brough, HU15 1BB on Friday 11th September.
Along with the quiz there was a bar, food, raffle and a cup for the winners of the quiz. Please send any photos of the event in.
Money raised will go to the Hull and Proud Foundation and South Hunsley Badminton Club. Thanks to Chris Reed for organising.
SHBC 2015 Charity event - Yorkshire 3 Peaks walk
On Sunday 12th July 2015 six members of SHBC and four friends of the club walked the Yorkshire 3 Peaks (our version 26 miles plus!) to raise money for our badminton club and a charity of the walkers' choice. Primarily this was so we can keep the club going and not have to raise fees.
The weather was typically English with rain and wind on Pen-y-Ghent, cold and low cloud on Whernside, sunny on Ingleborough and all in the same day! Mike's dog walked from the start to the butty van near the viaduct.
See the accompanying photos below:
Simon, Caroline & family raised £70 for SHBC and £70 for www.melanomauk.org.uk
